Laureate Beta

Laureate Beta Chapter was formed in 1998. Precptor Alpha Eta Chapter has accepted the chater and changed its status to Laureate Beta with all the Preceptor Alpha Eta Chapter members.

The chapter has grown to 25 active members in five levels including Ritual, Exempler, Preceptor, Laureate and Master.

We are a career chapter and have the flexability of that format.

Meetings

Meetings are held mostly in our homes on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. The first meeting of each month is a business meeting and the second meeting is a program night. Meetings are kept short to accommadate more socializing and to allow those who work the following day to be home at a reasonable hour. Our programs are diverse and always interesting. Our sorority year runs from the beginning of September to mid June.

Age Group

Members range in age from the late 30's to the 70's with some working outside the home at full time jobs while others are "domestic goddesses". The majority of the membership live in the south part of Calgary. We are a diverse, fun loving group with many interests and talents.

Social Events

Remember, its all about the food! We have several girls' events as well as a few mixed social events with our significant others. Each year, we honour a chapter Sweetheart and a Woman of the Year. Some of our activities include shopping days at Millarville or Spruce Meadows, a Christmas Party, Girls Get Away Weekend, an event with our sister chapter, movie nights, coffee meetings and a Wind Up Dinner. Mixed socials include a Christmas wine and cheese party, dinner theatre, bowling night to name a few. We have a secret sister program for those who wish to participate
